I've gone through LOADS of cameras, nearly all are but a memory. Perhaps a sad memory in some cases, in others a good riddance.
X-Pan - Sorry to see it go, but in four years I put two rolls through it. Happily sold it for TWICE what I paid for it.
F3 - Yikes! The viewfinder was easily the...
The obvious one for me is to get my butt out and shoot. I haven't shot anything since covid started. I bought two new cameras since then (including a Leica M6) and they're just sitting there, mocking me.
Pity it's 3k miles away from me. I'd love to go. I only recently became addicted to train vids on youtube. That and overgrown yard cleanups are my guilty pleasure vids.
That sounds like a great idea. I have the Ridgid version of the same setup, but never thought of using it for camera gear. Sadly I downsized my accumulation last year, getting rid of my Mamiya kit, in favor of smaller and lighter.
The Canon T90 is my long-time favorite camera. I studied photography at university with it, took it on road trips, etc. I had a blast with that thing. Was it the best camera I ever had? Oh hell no. I have two Leicas that vie for that honor. But I intend to be buried with a T90 in my hand...
Op-Tek Envy straps were my go-to for a very long time. Then I discovered Barton 1972 and outfitted the better cameras with lovely braided leather straps. Nowadays I'm using pandacamera's Strong Climbing Rope Braided Adjustable Camera Wrist Hand Strap on just about everything, including bright...
Well, just to be clear, I sometimes receive them with old m42 screw mount lenses off ebay. They're just junk to me. But if I ever bought an actual Leica branded lens I now know to keep ALL the packaging in case I need to resell.
In a flagrant act of stupidity I'm reacquiring some Nikon gear I sold last year. The two 35mm lenses I'm considering are the Nikon 35mm ƒ1.4 and the Zeiss 35mm ƒ2. Are there any others I should consider? Any thoughts on the two mentioned? For what it's worth, I've had them both at one time or...
I suspect the authenticity of that particular camera. It looks nothing like a Klasse, which itself looks rather XPan-like. Also it's priced around USD30.00, where the Klasse typically goes north of $800.
Things that make you go Hmmm....
Fer what it's worth, I ended up buying the M6. And yes, I had been planning on shooting with a 28, a focal length I've been avoiding since the 90s. (There was just something about the 28 through 50 focal range I just didn't like. I know better now.) Having used the M6 for a couple of weeks, I...
