Appreciate the advice! I think part of why this one came out so odd was the lens I was using; looks like the coating was coming off of it. I kinda like the effect, but I've already got a replacement lens and some HP5 to mess around with next time. Feeling a lot more comfortable with developing film.

The very first photo I took with my Intrepid 4x5; admittedly I'm surprised it turned out this well. Had a lot of other flubs that happened but this one came out okay, somehow. Undershot it slightly

Just got an SP-645 dev tank. Hopefully gonna be developing my first film off the Intrepid 4x5 I picked up soon! First time developing film so I'm expecting something to go horribly wrong. Really lovely pictures, as someone younger they still look clean to me 😁 Love the compositions and colors!

Going through my work for the sake of figuring out what to submit to a photo contest coming up soon. Couldn't get a good shot of the faerie circle I found on this island, so instead I just pointed my camera in the exact opposite direction. Turned out to be one of my favorite photos of the year.

Got it. Much appreciated for all the help, everyone! The Minolta's all charged and loaded with FP4+, and I'll be taking some pictures soon. Hopefully I can post them some time in the next couple weeks.

Alright, finally got around to playing with the Vilia a bit more. The Selenium cells for the light meter are definitely dead; setting the camera aperture lever to Auto while pointing it directly at the sun still had the aperture wide open at the highest film ISO. So that's a bit of a bummer, but...

Ahhhh I understand, that makes a lot of sense. Missed that earlier. Thanks!! I'll do some more poking and prodding at it this week; heading on a backpacking trip next week so not going to be able to use it properly for a while yet anyway.

The film speed scale is marked as GOST, as Dustin mentioned. Thanks for clearing that up; wasn't sure what the difference was, if any; the film speed selector also appears to have an ASA marking on it which is confusing me, but again, given the age this is probably GOST. The aperture does...

My local photo club does a monthly theme for photo submissions (not a proper competition, but still). This month's theme was "Rust is Beautiful." Been looking at this old Comet near my work for close to a year; it hasn't moved in that long, either.

I like the way the fingers show up in the shot here, just a really cool effect.
