How to reach this colour palette?

Thanks everyone for the useful ideas and insights. I certainly had doubts about modern transparency films due to their high contrast. I have 2 rolls left of cold-stored (to my knowledge) Fuji Sensia (which has provided nice results) and which is a less high contrast film, but expired film is an...

How to reach this colour palette?

Vintage postcards seem to have this 'look' apparently, such as this one which I liked so much I ended up buying the original postcard. I think that on my linked example the colours are more wild and unreal than on the images I posted, but I guess it's the same process after all. Harman Phoenix...

How to reach this colour palette?

This is great! I really like the colours of this, very similar to my postcards.

How to reach this colour palette?

Koraks, thank you for your informative answer! I didn't even consider all those variables... from taking the image to printing the postcard, not to mention the fading, as Brian said. In suppose I never considered that the original slides must have looked different from the final print. I've...

How to reach this colour palette?

I've found a dozen of these 1980s postcards of Budapest landmarks at home, had them scanned, and I'm loving the colours and vintage feel of these photographs. How could I reach the colours like on these samples, using (35mm) film stocks available today? Is it even possible to come close to this...

    Hoya 81 series filters?

Good point, I suppose I was misled by the colors a little. Thanks!

    Hoya 81 series filters?

Thanks Ian, I use my 81B for color slides for this purpose. What I'm wondering about is why the 81B is so different from the A and C, it doesn't appear to be the in-between color to me. As I said in reality the difference is more obvious than on the photo I posted.

    Hoya 81 series filters?

I have owned the 81B filter for a couple of years and use it regularly, and had the option to buy a new 81A and an 81C filter at a real bargain price, at different filter sizes, so I thought why not. What puzzles me though is the color of the filters in a side-by-side comparison. I expected the...

    Léonard Misonne

Thank you for letting me know, that's perfect because it is exactly that part of the country I'll be visiting. I'll be sure to visit the museum!

    Léonard Misonne

I was surprised to find there wasn't already a thread about Misonne. To me his photography represents everything I find wonderful about Pictorialist landscapes. I could stare at his photographs for hours and just be immersed in the painterly beauty that emanates from them. Is anyone else here a...

Fuji Provia with strange yellow stains?

Thanks everyone for the responses. Today I managed to speak with the lab in person, but they couldn't offer any explanation about what went wrong. They processed my roll with 9 more in fresh E-6 chemicals and the other rolls, they said, came out fine. I just hope this won't happen again to my...

Fuji Provia with strange yellow stains?

I just got back a roll of Provia from the lab, and wondering what this strange yellow discolouration is on some of the frames. It was a fresh roll of film, stored in the fridge, and shot with my trusty Nikon F100 which has never given me any trouble whatsoever. I had a KR3 filter on the lens...

Why would you buy expired 35mm film?

I took up photography only 3 years ago, and after a year of digital, I have largerly much switched over to 35mm film. So having started shooting film in 2020 means I have missed out on a huge variety of film stocks that used to be readily available even 10 years ago, especially from Fujifilm...
