webpage says "...until further notice..." so guessing volume is not high enough to keep their d&d processor running optimally. There are quite a number of professionals who would be affected by this, so would hope this is temporary. There are other options in Toronto, but not for those who...
Bergger Presitge Neutral is a wonderful paper, and my main (only really) paper now. I have some of the newer Oriental and it was decent, but I couldn't get it to tone he way I liked. Want to try Adox 110 FB but it's still not available afaik.
that's very strange wording...'trade concern'. I'm Canadian so am used to unusual phrasing but I'm trying to decide if this translated from another language or what. The page is U.S. based so curious they didnt just say 'there's a possible issue with these batches...'
That you're only seeing this with your b/w film suggests to me its a processing issue, and not camera related. if it was equipment, then your slides would exhibit these issues as well. so now wondering how clean your tank loading room is. I don't know if dust would stick to the emulsion when the...
I have one of these timers and the dual foot switch and there are two version of the pedal with different connections. there are four prongs. on one pedal there are flat blade type connectors, on the other, they're round pins. I use the focus switch for metronome printing. also makes dodging and...
those look *marginally* thin but I'd have no problem making prints with those negs. Have printed worse. the proof is in the pudding, so try making a few prints and judge those.
If one is going to use steel reels, then one should look into Hewes reels. Best ones afaic. Two teeth grab the sprocket holes and it's rare for film to load improperly. They're kinda spendy, but so worth it. I fone also uses Jobo tanks, then you can use the Hewes reels that fit the cores, and...
at that temp, yer kinda cooking the film. at 68ºf is the sweet spot from my experience, but have strayed to 70. as mentioned, the negs looked *slightly* dense but not overly. the scans however...
same thing happened years ago, expansion crazy, then retreat. imo fwiw, they shld stick to solid retail locations and stop expanding. as well, they basically abandoned the film and darkroom market. sure they have some film etc, but it's a sliver of what it once was. there was room for both...
I'd be looking closely at your shutter. It's possible there's something dragging behind, or in front of the curtains causing the slight underexposure. It's not a light leak, that would result in a lighter line in the photo (darker on neg)
I've never had problems with the 4 litre batches. Mix in a dedicated pail, with a drill powered paddle/mixer. Always comes out looking like weak tea. But yeah, four 1 litre kits, or 1- 4 litre ?
Wonder if somewhere along the way, a bag go dumped in the incorrect order ? Worth sending an email...
sure young shooters are buying film, but keep in mind though that the more seasoned shooters (aka older dudes and dudettes) are also a large factor and they're tending to do large bodies of work. iow, they have serious money to spend and don't think twice when buying large quantities of film.
