The New Leitz - Wetzlar Leica M6 (and the dreaded film scratching issue)

Wasn't trying to worry you really. The post was just to clarify the ways in which the new and old M6 are the same and different internally. It would be nice though to see Leica leveraging this to extend support to old M6 users. I am hopeful that they are trying to do so.

The New Leitz - Wetzlar Leica M6 (and the dreaded film scratching issue)

Not sure if this has been addressed here yet but had a nice chat with Leica Customer Service about meter boards for old M6s vis-a-vis Jesko's comments on the reintroduction of the model: "We were able to repair M6 classic metering before the launch of reissue. We had a lot of parts left since...

Will Color head for LPL 7452 work on LPL 7451?

On a similar note will carriers for 7454 work on 7451? All these model designations are confusing and I can't find any info on the internet to guide on what fits and what does not. Any help appreciated.

    Color images from B&W film...

Some of you might have seen this before but here is the best historical example of this method: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sergey_Prokudin-Gorsky#Gallery Look out for Tolstoy's portrait.

    Durst Nega138 alternative?

Never heard of tensioning carriers. Can't find anything with a cursory look on google. Any idea how they work? Any chance something like that could be DIYed?

    Bromide Drag or X-ray damage?

FWIW the roll in question was shot with a hasselblad so the lines run parallel to the length of the film. With that in mind I'd assume I would see the lines clearest of all in between frames but can't see anything of the sort.

Correlation between film format and scanner

its a lovely shot. The colours are very well rendered. FWIW I have seen someone else expand on this design. They have provided for the film advance. But no 120 or film cleaning. Here is a link: https://www.kamerakraft.com/film-scanning-carrier

What film format is this scan from? Any chance you could share some information on this custom film holder?

    Bromide Drag or X-ray damage?

I think someone might have mentioned in camera. I'll make an optical print soon and update with the situation.

    Bromide Drag or X-ray damage?

Here is a copy of the negative digitized using a DSLR. Poor quality but all I can grock right now. Sometimes I think I can see it, sometimes not. I did have light leaks from the back but very seldomly and they always looked like a small jet of light starting from a corner and going up to the...

    Bromide Drag or X-ray damage?

I just meant it didn't clarify visual difference between bromide drag and x-ray damage. I'm sorry if the tone came off as rude. I appreciate the time you took to help me. Thank you.

    Bromide Drag or X-ray damage?

This was an old style x-ray machine. Other films that went thru do not present this issue. I suppose that doesn't rule it out. Still worried it might have been that. That said, your answer is deeply opaque. One cannot know what "just does not behave that way" means other than to take it in...

    Bromide Drag or X-ray damage?

Can't seem to be able to see it on the negative but I'm wondering if it might be too subtle.

I see pictures of bromide drag and it looks similar. How does one differentiate?
