I came across this rockpool whilst photographing a wider angle view of the rock and water of the river into which it protruded. As I was packing away the camera I noticed that by moving back a little I could get a reflection of the trees in the pool. As I was using my Mamiya 7II I didn't have an excessively long lens and the angle I had to shoot from to get the reflection made it quite difficult to get what I wanted and as such the negative includes a larger area so I cropped the image when printing to create this view.

A really interesting shot and well seen. One to look at for a long time. The tree truck lining up with the crevice is subtle and yet strong.

The complicated sounding processing with Catechol works well for me.

Not sure how many versions you have made of this, but wonder if the reflection and pool would be more intriguing if you darkened the Top and middle (and to lesser extent bottom) RHS to be similar to the LHS

Baxter, yes I agree I think I need to balance the light a bit. The sepia toning had the unfortunate effect of lightening the right hand side which has thrown the balance a bit. I'll try a few more!

Beautiful. The highlits lacks any detail, maybe it needs some more work, but in other aspects very good. r.

i like the image. well seen. i think a bit more darkening of the right side may focus more attention to the refection. it is just a bit too bright.
