David - I love it! The composition is really quite interesting, especially the way lines extend from the flattened tent on the ground. The sky on the extreme left side of the image shows a tad of burning, but that's a minor criticisim. Great stuff! What size print is this? I've been doing a series of 4x10 contact prints and this aspect ratio seems similar.

The burn is only in the scan as I do not see it in the print.

And the actual print size is 3.5x9, for now. I plan to print them again as 5.5x12.

I love the whole feel of this. The sky is perfect and really sets the mood, here. Very nice!

Very Nice David, congratulations on "seeing" the image. Did you just walk up and find it or watch it unfold and knew it would work with the Xpan? Either way, good job - like Scott I have started to look at 4x10...have not made any yet, but did make a splitter for the 8x10 back and have tried to frame a couple of images. Just have not found one that works yet....This one is perfect.

thanks so much for the kind words. I happen to come across this and immediately grabbed it. Kind of like once in a lifetime with no people there.

As for the 4x10, I too am thinking to go bigger and to make contacts but the xpan is just too easy to use. This was metered with the in-camera meter and then printed with a 3.5 filter. Cake-work.
