Another Agfa Isochrom glass neg shot early 2007. I actually used to live in this place around 1999/2000. It's an old factory. When I moved out I passed it on to some theatre friends who stayed there until early '07. I was documenting it just before they moved out. It was a chaotic time as they were trying to sort through the mountains of crap they had - curtains, ropes, costumes etc. This scene shows stuff packed in boxes as well as some washing drying on the line.
The camera was a vintage Voigtlander Avus 6x9 plate camera. I was exposing onto some Agfa Isochrom glass plates that were circa 1930s, hence the blotches on the image. I think the original ISO was around 50 however my tests established it was now around ISO 6. I spent ages metering & thinking about what I was going to do before opening the shutter. I was using my standard 35mm camera as a meter. Since then I have bought a spot meter that will work better for this type of photography. The plate was processed in a Nebro tank kindly lent to me by Steve at the Lighthouse. Dev used was Diafine as I had a feeling that I might have underexposed & Diafine is good for a gentle push. Neg was contact printed to some Agfa MCP & developed in Kodak polymax paper developer. I really like the blacks of the MCP paper & look forward to it being available again. The image I'm uploading was scanned from the contact print.
