Remove the underside of the bridge and the picture gains a subject matter, namely the break in the concrete wall.

I have to agree with Tex on this one, but would leave some of the black. Needs to be cropped closer to the uprights, also more to the left.

I am going to have to play devil advocate. if you cut out the bridge you gain a center of focus, not subject matter. the photograph would loose its flow, and the incredibly interesting layered look it has with the repetative, yet continually altered, horizontal lines. The underside of the bridge is the ore grounds foil; both containing a rhythmic light and dark. It would destroy the balance of the photograph.

Yes, you would gain a picture of something (namely a crack, a fence, and some shadows) and at the same time the photograph would loose almost all of its aesthetic appeal.
