Sunroof Cloud

Sunroof Cloud

Parked my car one evening & saw this nice reflection of the sky in the sunroof. Honda Preludes are notorious for leaking sunroofs, hence the tape.

great photo.,

your sunroof is leaking because the drain holes are clogged up! i use compressed air to clear out the blockage.....works 90% of the time.

Hi Eddie, yes I found a website recently that explains the Honda problem. I just have to wait for it to stop raining & then peel off all the tape & attempt to clean the drain tubes. Getting the tape off is the first challenge, it's stuck on pretty tight so I have to experiment. Hopefully WD40 will do it. Apparently some Preludes have 4 drain holes & some only have 2 at the front, so that determines what approach to take.

i use a "blow gun" that has along piece of brake line grafted on to it. sometimes you can reach right in....others you need to remove the sunroof.

try to find something like "wax and grease" remover. ask at the body shop. that will take off the tape residue and not the paint (most of the time). everyone uses duct tape for this "repair" many times it damages the paint or can even pull off the paint with the tape.
