at first sight I thought this was an infrared image but then again not. I've never seen horsetails that pale.
My eye is attracted to the darker upper half, maybe because of the lack of detail here on the screen.

ps: we call them cats' tails.
 
Thank you all for the kind comments. The horsetails in this scene were a light green, but when illuminated by the sun, as they were here, they have a brilliant glow. I used a light green filter here to accentuate that quality. This negative was shelved for quite a while since I wasn't satisfied with the prints I was making and only recently decided to try again. This time, I cropped the negative to frame the repeating arcs formed by the streambed and canopy. To appropriately "balance" the tones in the print, the printing sequence was quite complicated. That's really beautiful, Daniel. So sharp, so well printed. The toning really compliments the subject matter.
