Sinuous Branches

6x6cm silver contact print

The upper reaches of the biggest tree on the hill where I live against an overcast sky. I couldn't resist breaking up the composition with that one lower branch, it just seemed to fit there...

I really like this, the tone on my screen is very pleasing. Good detail in the branches against the sky. Not sure whether I'd like to see more detail in the central branch - maybe there is on the print and I know it's a small contact.

Thank you.

Bill, on the print there are varying degrees of detail in all the branches but the central branch. I left that dead black, even burning it in slightly. I just felt it added a graphic quality to the image that was lacking when I printed it softer.

Suzanne, "Little whispering gems", I like that. All the best. Shawn

Very nice, Shawn! I enjoy how trees branch out like that, from trunk to the smallest twig - all equally important for survival. Well done.

You are just killin it. Do you ever miss with these little one? I love the off-centered center branch, and the capillary-like smaller branches.

Thanks Fellows.

Richard, mostly misses... I'd say I've been ending up with 1 and sometimes 2 final prints per roll. I usually double up exposures if working on a tripod.

Capillary-like smaller branches is exactly what I was thinking! doc
