This is the first of a series of photos made of rock sculpture on the banks of the Chagrin River. The rocks were all stacked in impossible positions with no cement, mud etc...all balance. I don't know who does this, but they show up periodically.
Nice photograph, real rich golden tones, beatuful scintillations in water. What a cool thing to do,balance rocks in streams, then walk a way and let nature take over.
Nice photo! There are some mighty elaborate rock sculptures that spring up miraculously somehow along the Big Sur coast of California. Some of them taller than me (I'm 6 feet tall) and composed of some hundreds of stones starting with boulders on the bottom courses and smaller as it goes up. Some of those boulders would take two or more hefty men, I am certain. I used to go every weekend up and down Big Sur coast and stumbled across them from time to time and wondered how they showed up since they were in the most unusual places. Then one time I came upon some hippies who were somewhat obviously stoned, fully engaged in the process of composing a stone sculpture, and it occured to me.. ahhhhhhh, stoner hippies arranging stones because they were stoned and had nothing better to do!
Thanks for all the nice comments. Hopefully some more prints in the next few days. Some of these sculptures are magnificent and involve some very heavy stones.
