Is Richard his real name or is it a reference to the plays by Shakespear? I ask because its very theatrical and a very strong portrait
 
I like this a lot. Notwithstanding Davec101's comments above, a different approach might be to obliterate the details of the upper lefthand side. The power of this image and the next one of the girl, is in the way you have isolated the subject. You obviously had a kind of feel or atmosphere in mind for these images when you made them. Instead of adulterating that original idea by "improving" background detail, why not emphasize it ...? Tim R
 
I hadn't thought of the Shakespeare reference, actually. I will try burning away the extraneous stuff on the left edge. I don't know exactly what it is - a wooden gate, perhaps.

This, like the girl shot, was a grab shot. Follow your costumed friends around on Halloween night and you'll get some interesting images, but they're all "one chance only" opportunities.
