Art Deco Theatre in small town in Oklahoma. I love this theatre but can't figure out how to shoot it without the wire that runs right in front. I shot it from several angles and liked this best.
You know Gay, I had to go back and look to see the wire after reading your comment. It does not bother me at all, but what I really LOVE about this is the deep rich blacks you have here. Only critique I can make, and it something I struggle with often, is the really white sky, doesn't need one of those black, grand landscape kind of skys, but do wish the sky had some character since there is so much of it...but ignore me, it's a lovely image and one to be proud of.
Lovely building Gay. I used to fret a lot about wires too but then I realized I was losing shots because of it. Those wires have probably been there as long as the theatre has been standing. My suggestion would be get right square in front of the theatre an embelish the symmetry that's there. The wire will hardly show.
If the building can be photographed at a different time of day, with direct sunlight on it, that would be an improvement, as the bright sky is a weakness. Contrast seems artificially boosted. An overcast day shot should look like an overcast day shot. Shadow detail lacking in box office, and playbill washed out, probably due to underxposure and use of too-high-grade of paper.
Ornello, i would take your comments more seriously if, you ever made a comment that wasn't negative and if you ever posted anything about yourself or even an image you actually printed.
