It's a real slice of contemporary life is this. The heavily tattoo'd hands and neck in contrast to the smart clothes. Identity is a mash-up these days and this illustrates it well.

in his apparent confusion, he didn't even take note of the photographer with a TLR looking down... a sign of the times. In an iphone/android picture world, a camera, especially a really "old" style camera, isn't seen.
if it was SLR raised to your eye i'd bet it would raise a glance, with maybe a disdaining grimace. alas, that too, will become a dim memory.

Not many people on the street take note of a photographer with a TLR looking down. People sometimes approach and ask what it is and then ask "can you still get film". Most are just not interested enough to take any notice of old mechanical cameras. Some will tell me they used to use film cameras, and some that they used to own a TLR. Everything is destined to become a dim memory. I like to use waist level finders because people most of the time won't know what I'm up to.
