Thanks Mike and Dan. Mike, we were there for an absolutely beautiful weekend at the end of June- great time. Dan, the tones on the print are subtilely purplish in the shadows and brownish in the highlights from the two toning steps I used. Unfortunately, I haven't had much success with the scanning in terms of preventing the highlights from blowing out.
Nice composition with an ambigious scale; the rock could be 6 inches or 6 feet tall.
The banding from bottom to top is well done as is the mini boulder in front. Very well constructed (constructed meant in only the most complimentary way).
Thank you Marv and Thom. It has been immensely fun to work through all the negatives from this trip. While working on printing each frame, my mind starts to fill-in and elaborate on what I "thought" I saw through the viewfinder at the moment of exposure. The resulting prints are a product of a very erratic filter (i.e. my brain).
