Meson de Santa Rosa II

Checking my files I discovered this version of "Early Morning" at "Meson de Santa Rosa", and decided to make an attempt. I shoot it with a 645 Hasselblad back, forcing me to rethink the composition. I used Kodack Tech Pan film, so I needed a longer exposition, producing some blur in the branches out of the window. I made this shot a day after the Tri X one, and latter in the day, as the sun raised the ray at the right corner of the window got lost, even though, I like this one better. What you think folks?

I agree, I like this rendition better. I feel that this image is much more mysterious for some unknown reason. I think I would like a bit more light above the window to define the shell shape a bit more. I would almost bet that what I am asking is already in this print, but does not show in the scan. Regardless, in my opinion it is one fine photograph!

I prefer the other one, because if you show everything it looses a bit of the quality to dream, if you show me all what is there!

I like both images a lot, would be hard pressed to choose. I fact you might print and frame them both together in a long frame. Charles brings in an interesting point that if you get a chance to shoot again, you might bring along an on camera flash that you can hand hold during the exposure and pop off manually 1 1/2 to 2 stops under your camera exposure. This would brighten the whites shrpen the image and retain your core grey and black values that are so perfect in this image. Be sure the flash does not show up in the window.

Hmmmmm! I like this ever bit as much as the first, and better in some ways. What I do like is how each time I look at it, I see a bit more detail in the shadows...which makes me thing the print must be very nice. Not better, like each one on it's won merit...but must admit I love the light in both.

The previous one, really features the beautiful window but this one says something about the room. Both are lovely, I would probably choose the first one if I had to choose but I'd rather not.

Wow, I like this a lot better. It's more complete. Very impressive!

Me gusto mucho tu foto.. pero para mi gusto me hubiera gustado ver la pura ventana enmarcada con la foto. Sigue sacando fotos. Son muy bonitas.
