Iron Works - More experimenting with C-41 as B&W

Just playing around with some old shaws film and processing it in B&W ... it's fun and frustrating, I wouldn't try this if you're wet printing but with a scanner you can get some good results if you expose properly. I have only done this with old film, so I don't have as much experience with new, I only do this with film I would otherwise throw away.

Seems to work best with 200 speed film rated at 50 ... I tried 400 speed rated at 100 and at 50 and it just didn't have the same consistency or look, not sure why.

interesting results. what developer are you using? if i understand you correctly, you just use a standard b/w developer to develop color film. is that correct? sorry for all the questions!
Don't be sorry, questions is how we learn, I use Rodinal (Adox Adonal) I use it as a concentration of 1:100 and stand it for 1 hour, I agitate the first minute, then every 20 minutes. And I shoot the film two stops under so 200 would be 50ASA etc. it's not bad, grainy, but not bad.
