ILFORD SFX - dr5-GALLARY

ILFORD SFX-Developer-Sepia: SFX, a partial IR film type. In dr5 it produces a unique metallic look. The dr5 exposure range is 100-250iso, normal is 200iso. It is best used in contrasty scenes. This image was taken on location. Strobes were used along with natural light. No filters were used. Scanned as the chrome, no manipulation.

**The dr5 process is a unique reversal B&W process unlike any published reversal B&W process. These are images posted to give examples of dr5 processing and it's use. Contact us or go to our website; www.dr5.com if there are any questions regarding the images in this gallery, Thanks for looking!**

Wow, what a cool look. I guess the ring flash used also adds to the feel of the image. Hmm, I have to shoot some 8x10 Tri-X and send you some day

Great image to show off your process. Did you shoot this one?
Well done mix of illumination.

Ryan--DR5 also has a regular paid text ad on APUG, so they're APUG supporters.

While you're on the phone, David, one use for DR5 that occurs to me is for shooting small format originals that I want to print in albumen, so I could make an interneg on ortho film, eliminating the step of an interpositive. Is anyone using the process this way?

Damn! (in a really good way)

That's truly amazing. Like David Goldfarb says, this is definitely an alternative for enlarged negs, skip a step, or not using 'modern' technologies...

I really like the sepia-like tones. That Ilford SFX looks really good. I remember reading about it on the dr5 web site, that you really liked the film.

Simply beautiful as an expression of the craft and a pretty gosh darn nice portrait. I wouldn't mind seeing any manufacturer or service provider, buy a subscription and post winning examples of their product. As long as it is traditional/analogue

BTW i doubt it is a ring light. look at direction of the shadows.

Thanks for the comments folks! I would like to show what dr5 can do [because it's my baby]. All the images I might post will be my own, I used to shoot for a living if you didn't know.

No, this is a very large dish on a mono-light, shot @ dusk.

I will keep it to the facts and by no means want these images to be perceived as spam. Please let me know if you think so.

Just an example of the possibilities, film types and my own personal work that is all processed in this method.

PS; All analog here - no digital. PSS; JdC, we did buy a subscription. Was there something else I needed to do?
