Photo taken between Ragged Point and Gorda, California along Highway 1 in Monterey County. Terrible day for photography. Fog soaked in all the better subjects. Had to rise above fog. Had a big problem with this roll during development, more detailed in Harmony photo in Critique Gallery. Lost more negs than were good. I post this photo here because I thought a yellow filter would bring more resolution to the upper side of the fog. It seemed that way in the finder, but now developed and printed you can't make out the subtle variations of the puffy upper side of the fog. Instead it is all pure white almost. I also used a Cokin gradiant ND (neutral density) +2 filter which stopped down 2 stops on the top side of negative. This should have added more relief and shading to the fog but it did not. Is there a way to improve taking photo next time? Perhaps the only improvement would be for more altitude? That's what I am thinking.
