Stornorrforsen (Great north stream), Umeå River, North of Sweden. 1958 this stream was “silenced” by a dam and a water power station upstream. Normally this part of the river is more or less dry. But his year, last time was 15 years ago, the spring flood was so strong due to a snowy winter up in the mountains that they had to open up the dam and let the river float feely.
