I took this photo in 1998 with a Rollei 6008 with 80mm lens on Fuji Provia 100. This is a time exposure, painting with light photo. Aperture was f/8 & exposure time was approx 30 minutes. It took a few attempts to get it right; I had the tripod & camera set up for several days & would shoot a roll, have it processed & then try again the next night trying to eliminate any errors. I fired two blasts of flash using a red gel & then a blue one. I had a sheet of black cloth to separate the two areas so the colours didn't mix. The rest was done with a torch, slowly moving through the scene. I had a nice little fibre optic hose that fitted the end of the torch & gave a tighter beam of light; it was made for plumbers and only cost a few dollars. I also used some gels over the hose to colour the dried flowers in the fireplace. This was all done around 3am to avoid outside light coming through the windows.
