daisy for a girl

daisy for a girl

Edit: crop to square. The funny thing is, before I shot the image, I thought about making it square.. but when I first tried cropping the negative, it wasn't working for me.. anyways, I played around, because I knew the top of the uncropped image was weak (I had left it there because I wanted it to fit into a certain frame..). Anyways, squared the image, had a new frame made..

Tech details:
Fabriano paper, ammonium chloride, pottasium citrate and silver nitrate.

My scanner is soft, but I chose to leave the image unsharpened.

Thank you! I've been considering re-shooting with what I feel is a stronger composition.
(I'd rather not crop a 4x5 contact print )

Perhaps another POV might be stronger, but I love the festival of triangles going on in this one...it's fun to keep changing my mind about which is the negative space and which isn't. The light/dark values are fun too!

Very nice. Strong composition. Have you got any more?

That is nicely seen! Contrast really works well here. Since this is the critique forum, I suggest a slight crop off the top (to about a square image) for better interplay between the flower and its shadow. I thought 'yin and yang' when I saw this photograph.
