the rich black in this image is great. i can't stop looking at how it leads
the eye from behind the tree, up it to that cloud.

Yes, that's pretty outstanding. It's almost symbolic of how a tree would 'ingest' the atmosphere around it and funnel it to Earth, both from above and below.
Very nice!
