Taken just before the longest day of the year, as this is the only time of the year when the south facing walls have sunlight on them. The right hand side wall faces due south. Taken about 1730 hrs to get the correct sunlight.
I waited almost a year to get this, hoping they wouldn't add something like a verandah to the front of the house
The pattern in the two windows adjacent to the 4WD is not in the original print, this is a scanning issue I don't worry about.
This scan was taken off a small print, which is a cropped print of the negative. I have an 8x16" print which is probably the best B&W print I have done with this camera in 12 years.
I tilted the camera up slightly to add effect. You will notice that the far left and far right of the buildings and fence are slanting in. The powerline shadows are also quite curved. In both cases they are naturally straight, but the swinging lens puts this wonderful effect in.
