I love the photograph. It's simple, strong and softly sensual, expecially with that tone you gave it. At first I thoght it was a pure palladium print.
So what is polytoner? A brand name? Could you share that info?

Dear Mr Edge

Love this image but undecided about the toning.

No matter how many images I see of this church, I love to see more. This is a nice fresh perspective and I think the polytone works very well with it. 8x10, contact print? Looks nice.

I think this is a great image. Beautiful composition and tones, but I would burn the lower right corner to black. I don't think the gravel adds anything and taking it out might make this image even stronger.

Kodak Polytoner is a combination of sodium sulfide (rotten eggs, whew!) and Selenium. It confers an archival surface while warming the image. This warming is variable, depending upon the paper. Kodak Polymax Fine Art CD (warm, eggshell) tones much more than FD (cold, glossy). It can be mixed in various proportions and tones variably: you will have to experiment--in a well ventilated darkroom!
Yes, contact print.
In some prints I have printed down the gravel. In this one I did not, feeling that it gives a sense of scale and "ground" to an otherwise abstract image. I would like to poll the membership in this regard: to gravel or not to gravel. That is the question.

No grovel... OOOPS, I mean no gravel. :D
I think it takes away from the rest of the image.

Think No Gravel would strengthen it too.
Love the tone; and your method sounds much more convenient (and consistent) than Selenium then Veridon toning!
Very nice abstract .
