I shot this 3 or 4 years ago. Finally decided to print it last month. The composition has always bothered me a bit, but I still really like the image. Obstacles limited my viewpoint on this window. I have my 14x17 camera jammed right up against a telephone pole to my right and there were several other things that really limited where I could set up.
The color and luminosity are amazing. The triangle of dark in the corner would be my only complaint, but that does not ruin it for me. This is beautiful here, I can only imagine how much more so it is in person. Thanks for sharing it.
Hey Kerik, Thanks for posting this here...still love it (but guess you knew that). One point I hope everyone will take note of..the image posted on your webstie, IMO, looks much stronger than the one here and the difference seems to be the sea of white around the images in the gallery here.
Understand where you are coming from Mark, guess I tend to see things this way - which is probably why I like it so much (see the door in my gallery here and you will see what I mean).
Kerik, this is an image that stopped me in my tracks. I love the texture, the angles and most of all the fluttering curtain that evokes a sense of melancholy, even loss and sadness. It's an image that stays with you.
