Framed Diver

Another from a trip to Chuuk. This is one of the few shots that I sorta planned. In general, you dive 3 different sites every day, so you don't exactly scout any site. I knew I wanted to get a picture of a diver (my brother, in this case) framed somehow.

1) is this hurt by the lack of bright colors? The image was shot without a strobe, and the corals in the shallow water didn't have much color to begin with.

2) how much does the fact that the diver is not in perfect focus hurt? Much of it is due to diffusion in the water, but some of it is due to not having the hyperfocal set right.

Thanks for the response, Eric.

It would be interesting to see how much color would have been brought out by a fill flash. My recollection was that there wasn't much color at this depth. Also, I probably would have messed up the shot!

I have posted a few dive photos in the past year or so, but they don't really get a lot of attention. It is a rather special sub-field.
