Salt print

This is a salt print I made recently, trying out different papers. The white BFK Rives 210gsm is a nice paper and gives a good tone when dry. This neg was processed for salt - overexposed and overdeveloped compared to a neg for regular photo paper. Unfortunately the neg got a bit damaged during processing in a Jobo 2830 when the inner cup fell into the tank when i was rolling the fix. It scratched up the emulsion a bit - luckily a lot of the marks don't show up in the salt print. The paper was coated with a hake brush - getting right to the edges is something I am working on. It was exposed in direct sun in a Fornulary contact frame for 21 minutes.

I have come back to this print and I think it is wonderful. I think you should pursue more salt prints since it seems from this you have a kinship with the process. I can see what John is saying about the border. I don't mind sloppy borders if it doesn't distract from the image, or completely takes over the border. In this case, I think a whole image would be great. In any event it is a wonderful print, one that I would love to see in person. I hope you do more like this and I look forward to seeing them here.
 
Thanks for the comments. I love the look of salt prints and am currently trying a range of papers - next up is Bergger COT 320 - just waiting for some sunny weather in Sydney. I'm also looking into affordable and practical UV sources so I don't have to be so reliant on the weather, and to have more repeatable exposure times. I also need to shoot more 8x10 and process for this method.
 
Wonderful print! Good just the way it is, but if you want clean edges rather than brushed edges you might try using blue, non stick masking tape.
