Palladium/Na2 print from 4x5 neg taken this summer. I've been working on fine-tuning my shooting/developing so negs are better suited to alt printing than silver printing. I'm getting there.
Hello! I like this image very much -- somewhat suggestive of the human body, but not overly so. A nice "active" composition! The inclusions always seem to be falling.
Is that color of the print as yellow as it is on my screen? (as if you know how it looks on my screen!) The color on my screen seems to indicate that it was not totally cleared (I use COT320, but am using warm Potassium oxalate).
Also what side of the COT320 do you print on? Personal preference, of course, but I started out using the rougher side, but now only use the smoother side. From your scan, the texture in the upper left seems to be the texture of the rough side.
Hi Vaughn, thanks for your thoughts. I do print on the smooth side of Cot 320.
I was finding that my rpints weren't clearing completely. Quite recently I've added a sodium sulfite bath after the EDTA baths. There were some prints last week that were dried, considered, then re-cleared in sodium sulfite within a day or 2. I might have scanned this before I re-cleared it. It is quite warm, as there's very little Na2 in it. I've yet to acheive any negs too contrasty for palladium, though I am finding I need much less Na2, now that I'm shooting/developing with carbon in mind.
