The old military installations at Marin Headlands are great subjects for photography. They would be excellent for use with models although the lack of privacy might limit what could be done. But don't forget the tripod - the light is soft and hazy close to the coast, and some of the interiors are pretty murky.
Coastal Artillery Installations! All up and down West and East Coasts. Great stuff. Been up to the ones around Puget Sound. Spent four days photographing and didn't even come close to getting it all.
