    are new Vancouver-based Photography workshops specializing in the teaching of Film Photography. We offer practical and affordable introductory training in every aspect of analog photography, while our intermediate and advanced workshops offer a great way to acquire new creative skills, get updated on contemporary practices, or gain valuable artistic insights on developing work.

    We are pleased to announce that most VNB Fine Art Photo workshops will take place at Cineworks' Annex, located at 235 Alexander Street in Gastown, starting in early January 2012.

    Our regular Workshop format extends onto 6 weeks and involves 3-hour weekly meetings scheduled at evening times for weekdays, and late morning/afternoon times for weekends.

    Online Registration is now open for the following January through March Workshops:

    Basics of Photography 4-hour Crash Course | Sundays 1 - 5 pm
    Film Photography Foundations | Tuesdays 7 -- 10 pm
    Photoshop Workflows for Film Photographers | Saturdays 10 am -- 1 pm

    Plastic Camera | Mondays 7 -- 10 pm
    Photo Editing & Sequencing | Fridays 6 -- 9 pm
    Documentary Photography | Thursdays 7 -- 10 pm

    Landscapes in Medium & Large Format Photography | Saturdays 2 -- 5 pm
    Staged Photography, The Narrative Tableau | Wednesdays 7 -- 10 pm

    CUSTOM INSTRUCTION is also available.

    VNB Instructors Bastien Desfriches Doria ( and Virginie Lamarche ( both come from France, have earned terminal degrees in their field (MFA in Photography) in the US and have extensive teaching experience at the University level. Bastien worked for the past five years as an Assistant Professor of Photography and Digital Imaging at Governors State University in Chicago, while Virginie taught as a full-time Lecturer of Photography at the University of Dayton in Ohio for three years. Their work has been extensively exhibited nationally and internationally, and has won them numerous awards.
